This adapter will allow you to use Gold Mount (Anton Bauer, 3-Stud) batteries with lights that only have a V-Mount battery plate. The adapter slides onto the light's V-Mount battery plate and then the Gold Mount (Anton Bauer, 3-Stud) battery attaches to the adapter.
